New Citizenship law comes into effect from today: Home Ministry

The much-talked about Citizenship Amendment Act has come into force. Ministry of Home Affairs issued notification in this regard late on Friday. In th gazette notification, the Union home ministry said the act under which non-Muslim refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan will be given Indian citizenship, will come into force from January 10 that is, on Friday itself.

$80 Million bounty for Trump’s head announced on Iran TV. What we know so far

A bounty of $80 million has been placed on Donald Trump’s head. An unknown Iranian eulogist placed the bounty on the US President after the killing of top Iranian General Qasem Soleimani by the US forces. At the funeral of the slain general, $1 was collected from everyone present. As per the eulogist, 80 million Iranians contributing $1 each would mean $80 million that the country will be willing to spend to avenge the death of its most celebrated general. Nirbhaya case: Supreme Court rejects review plea of rape convict Akshay Kumar Singh

The Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected the review petition filed by Akshay Kumar Singh in the 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case. Akshay Singh is one of six accused in the case. Of the total, prime accused Ram Singh had committed suicide in the Tihar jail during the trial of the case. Another accused in the matter was a minor and had appeared before a juvenile justice court.
