Farooq Abdullah not interested in challenging PSA detention unless all detainees released

SRI NAGAR: National Conference (NC) president and three-time former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah, who is under detention and booked under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA), is not interested in challenging his detention in the court of law. Senior NC leader and MP Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi said Abdullah, the sitting Lok Sabha MP from Srinagar, is not interested in challenging his detention in any court – Jammu and Kashmir High Court or Supreme Court.

Modi to arrive in B’luru for two-day state visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive on a two-day visit to Karnataka on Thursday. He will be in Karnataka till Friday afternoon, following which he will depart to Delhi.

Modi will land in Bengaluru on thursday morning, following which he will visit the Siddaganga Mutt in Tumakuru. He will participate in a public gathering scheduled at Junior College Grounds in the city, where Krishi Karman Awards presentation ceremony and distribution of fishing equipment to the beneficiaries is scheduled. At the event, the prime minister will electronically transfer Rs 12,000 crore under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, to 6 crore farmers.

CBSE Board Exam 2020: 75% attendance must to appear for Class 10, 12 board exams.

CBSE Board Exam 2020: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed all of its affiliated schools to calculate attendance of students going to appear for class 10 and class 12 board exams this year as on January 1, 2020. CBSE in its latest notice said, “Students whose attendance will be calculated less than 75 per cent will not be allowed to appear for the exams, as per the rule”. If a candidate has a genuine reason behind the shortage of attendance, students will have to submit the supporting documents, such as, medical reports etc, with the authorities by January 7. As per the circular, no case will be considered post the deadline.
