Cuttack to Delhi, Amazon for $2-bn annual exports by Indian sellers

Buoyed by the success of Indian sellers exporting products to global markets through its e-commerce platform, Amazon has raised its target of exporting India-made products to $2 billion per year till 2025, up from its $1 billion sales in the first three years of its global selling programme in the country (May 2015-April 2018).

Jamia Millia Islamia moves court for registration of FIR against Delhi Police over December 15 violence

The Jamia Millia Islamia will move court for the registration of an FIR against the Delhi Police in connection with the police action on students in December last year, university officials said on Wednesday. The decision to move court was taken at an emergent Executive council meeting, they said.

“An application will be filed very soon in the lower court under section 156(3) of the CrPC seeking direction to police to register an FIR,” Ahmad Azeem, spokesperson of the university, said.

Govt proposes to treat rare disease patients at one-time treatment cost of up to Rs 15L

New Delhi: The government will provide a financial support of up to Rs 15 lakh under its Rashtriya Arogaya Nidhi scheme for one-time treatment of rare diseases, according to the much-awaited draft Rare Diseases Policy.

Under the draft National Policy for Rare Diseases released on Monday, beneficiaries would not be limited to Below Poverty Line families, but will also cover 40 per cent of the population eligible as per norms of the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana for their treatment in government tertiary hospitals only.

The Union Health Ministry intends to notify certain medical institutes as Centers of Excellence for Rare Diseases.
