4 Natural Tips To Keep Your Skin Safe During Holi

Holi, the festival of colours is one of the most awaited and widely celebrated festival in India. Playing with colours, throwing water balloons at each other and indulging in the special Holi snacks and sweets are the biggest highlights of the event. If you too are excited and looking forward to play Holi, make sure that you are Holi ready!

Here are 4 tips and tricks you would need to do to protect your skin, so that it isn’t harmed in any way!

Before Holi

Oiling

Oiling should ultimately be your best friend during the festival of Holi!

On the day of Holi make sure that you apply almond oil all over your body, especially on the exposed areas. This will prevent the colours from sticking on your body and make it easier to rinse off the colours. Plus, almond oil is a rich source of vitamin E and will provide some nourishment to your skin. You can use coconut oil as well in place of almond oil!

Sunscreen

Sunscreen

You obviously know that you’ll be spending the whole day out in the sun! So make sure you pack your skin with SPF 50+ to prevent yourself from the direct exposure of the sun. This way, you can avoid tanning and other skin problems that sun’s UV rays could possibly trigger.

After Holi

Natural Soaps and Oils

Use some olive oil with cotton to remove the colours off your face hassle free. Avoid using any chemical based soaps to rinse off the colours from your body, as you may end up damaging your body more. Wash it off with herbal and natural soaps and do not scrub yourself too hard!

Home-Made Masks

Use natural home-made face masks or scrubs. These made with natural ingredients such as turmeric, sandalwood or rosewater can help nourish the skin from within, without causing any side effects!
