Anna Hazare demands his security be withdrawn, writes to CM Uddhav Thackeray

PUNE: Social activist Anna Hazare has demanded that the security provided to him by the government be withdrawn.

Hazare sent a letter to this effect to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday.

Security cover to him was a waste of public money, he said.

Many people had threatened him in the past, but he always ignored them, he said.

“I had requested the state government to revoke my security. But the government has not responded to my request. In the meantime, I came to know that the government is revoking the security of some people.

Indian Railways may hike passenger fare; Freight rates will be reduced

Jaish-e-Mohammad planning to execute terror attacks in Ayodhya, reveal intelligence agencies

Banned terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) is planning terror attacks in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya, according to intelligence agencies. Sources told Zee Media that a message of JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar has been intercepted by intelligence agencies and the message sent via chatting app Telegram has revealed that Pakistan-based terror group is planning to execute attacks in Ayodhya. It is to be noted that Telegram is widely used by JeM and other terror groups for communication.

RBI launches new prepaid payment instrument for digital transactions up to Rs 10,000

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Tuesday introduced a new type of semi-closed prepaid payment instrument (PPI), which can be used only for purchase of goods and services up to a limit of Rs 10,000. Money will be loaded or reloaded in the new PPI only from a bank account for making digital payments such as bill payments, merchant payments, etc. The new PPI could be issued on the basis of essential minimum details sourced from the customer.

72 CAPF companies to be withdrawn from Jammu and Kashmir

The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to withdraw 72 Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) companies from Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect. News agency ANI reports that 72 companies will include 24 CRPF, 12 BSF, 12 ITBP and 12 CISF companies.
