‘Is there any allopathic medicine to turn cruel person into kind human?’ Ramdev’s 25 questions for IMA
New Delhi: A day after withdrawing his statement against allopathy which had drawn huge flak from the medical fraternity, yoga guru Ramdev on Monday posed 25 questions for the Indian Medical Association and pharma companies.
Ramdev, in a tweet that could become the latest flashpoint between the yoga guru and IMA, asked the apex’s doctor’s body and pharma companies if there is any cure or medication for several diseases, including pyorrhea, migraine, cholesterol triglycerides, psoriasis, insomnia, acidity among others.
The yoga guru also asked if there is any medicine in allopathy to turn a violent and cruel person into a kind human.

The yoga guru also asked if there is any medicine in allopathy to turn a violent and cruel person into a kind human and if pharma companies have any medicine to end the tussle between allopathy and Ayurveda.
Ramdev went on to ask if allopathy offers permanent relief for ailments like hypertension (BP), type-1 and 2 diabetes, diabetes and asthma. “Doctors should not fall ill at all if allopathy is all powerful and ‘sarvagun sampanna’ (having all good qualities),” the yoga guru remarked in an ‘open letter’ .
He also listed several other ailments such as fatty liver, liver cirrhosis, colitis, constipation and bloating amnesia and asked the IMA and pharma companies if they have any treatment for them without side effects. “Like you found a cure for TB and chicken pox, look for treatments for liver ailments. After All, allopathy is now 200 years old,” he said.
Ramdev, IMA lock horns over allopathy video
Ramdev had come under sharp criticism after a video of him describing modern medicine ‘allopathy’ as a “stupid science” surfaced on media.
Citing the video, the IMA urged Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan to take strict action against the yoga guru for “misleading” people by making “untutored and unlearned” statements against allopathy.
The medical body had also said Ramdev’s remarks should be “considered as hate speech” and demanded that he be booked under the Epidemic Diseases Act.
Ramdev withdraws allopathy remarks
Ramdev on Sunday took back his statement after Vardhan called the yoga guru’s remarks “extremely unfortunate”, and said that it “can break the morale” of healthcare workers and “weaken” the fight against COVID-19.
In a strongly-worded letter to Ramdev, Vardhan said: “The statement disrespects the corona warriors and hurt the sentiments of the country. Your statement on allopathy can break the morale of healthcare workers and weaken our fight against COVID-19.”
Following the minister’s letter, Ramdev in a statement said he respects all forms of medical science and allopathy doctors have saved people during the pandemic by risking their own lives.
