
Britain fined three million pounds on Zakir Naik’s Peace TV
The UK has been fined £ 300,000 (Rs 2.77 crore) for spreading hatred and spreading provocative content on the Peace TV network of Islamic evangelist Zakir Naik. Britain’s media watchdog Ofcom has been fined. The London-based information broadcasting services regulator has fined the licensee Peace TV Urdu £ 200,000 and Peace TV £ 100,000 for breach of the rule.
The regulator has said that it came to know during the investigation that Peace TV Urdu and Peace TV were broadcasting hateful and objectionable materials. Many times there is a possibility of a riot. Peace TV is owned by Lord Production and Club TV has a Peace TV Urdu license.

Both channels are owned by 54-year-old Zakir Naik. Peace TV is said to be a non-profit satellite TV network ‘Free to Air’ and is broadcast in English, Bangla, and Urdu from Dubai. Naik is its founder.
India urges Malaysia to hand over Naik
The controversial evangelist is India’s wanted criminal in the money laundering case. Naik promotes extremist ideas through his speeches. He fled from India to Malaysia in 2016, where he got permanent citizenship. Last week, India made a formal request to the Government of Malaysia to extradite Zakir Naik to India. Naik’s entry into the UK has also been banned since 2010.
