‘It’s been a year since Hardik drank coffee’ – Dinesh Karthik’s hilarious comment while talking to Pandya brothers
The Coronavirus enforced lockdown has confined everyone to their homes in India and the cricketers are no different to it. They have resorted to the social media to interact with their other teammates and it was the turn of Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya to go live with Dinesh Karthik.
The trio had fun while communicating even as Karthik recalled the junior Pandya’s Koffee with Karan controversy with a hilarious comment. During the live session, the players were urging the fans to ask them their questions in the comment section.
However, the KKR skipper brought out his humourous side by stating that it has been a year since Hardik drank a coffee.
To be precise, it was in January 2019 when Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul were suspended by the BCCI for their misogynist comments on the show. It was a huge controversy and both the cricketers were also sent back midway through the Australia tour. Later the duo had conditionally apologised as well which led to them coming back into the team and also played the IPL and the World Cup.
Coming back to the fun part of the conversation, Dinesh Karthik said, ‘Ask decent questions, we don’t want anything controversial as it’s been a year since Hardik drank coffee.’
I drink Green tea instead, says Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya and Krunal both were left in splits after Karthik’s comment and the former hilarious cleared that he hasn’t drunk coffee since the controversy and has resorted to green tea. The all-rounder also went on to say that even Starbucks wouldn’t have such an expensive coffee in their menu.
‘I don’t drink coffee, I drink green tea instead. I drank coffee only once and proved to be too expensive for me. I can bet that Starbucks would not have such an expensive coffee. Since then I stay away from coffee,’ Hardik said. As far as their on-field heroics are concerned, the three players were supposed to be the part of the IPL now but the Coronavirus threat has led to the tournament being postponed until further notice.
This would’ve been Hardik Pandya’s comeback as well to competitive cricket as the ODI series between India and South Africa was also suspended.
