Irrfan’s mother Saeeda Behum dies in Jaipur
Irrfan’s mother Saeeda Behum took her last breath on Saturday (April 25) morning. According to a report in ANI, Saeeda was unwell for a long time and died due to natural cases. She resided at the Beniwal Kanta Krishna Colony in Jaipur.
Saeeda belongs to a Nawabi family and was also a poet. Film trade analyst, Komal Nahta took to Twitter to announce her demise. He wrote, “Saeeda Begum, mother of actor Irrfan Khan, passed away today (25th April) in Jaipur at the age of 95. May her soul rest in peace.”
According to The New Indian Express, Irrfan paid his last respects to his mother through video conference.
He is currently in Mumbai. Due to the ongoing lockdown, the actor couldn’t participate in the funeral ceremony.
Saeeda has left behind three sons Irrfan and his brothers, Salman and Imran. Talking to the daily, Salman said, “My mother had been ill for some time. But suddenly her health deteriorated on Saturday morning. Recently, mother had inquired about Irrfan bhai’s health.”
Saeeda hailed from Rajasthan’s only Muslim state during the pre-independence era, Tonk. She belonged to a Nawabi family of the region.
