So are you excited to watch the legendary, veteran actor Pankaj Kapur on your home screens on a two-decade-old show?
The storyline of the show reveals how the central character visits government offices to get his work done and at the same time, very softly and sarcastically highlights the corruption in the beaurocracy.
Deven Bhojani, who’s known for his pivotal role as Patel got nostalgic and told news agency Indo-Asian News Service, “It’s a great feeling that Office Office is coming back. We made the show in 2001-2002, and after almost two decades it will go on air again. The show is still relatable the way it was then. It is about how a common man suffers when he needs to get something important done amidst the offices of corrupt people. In the period of lockdown, when the whole world is going through tension, pain, and sadness, the re-run of ‘Office Office’ will divert their minds and bring smiles to their faces. I myself am looking forward to such a show.”
The show’s other cast involves veteran actors like Deven Bhojani, Manoj Pahwa, Asawari Joshi, Hemant Pandey, Eva Grover, and Sanjay Mishra, they all will always live in our hearts and without them, the show’s absolutely incomplete.
It originally ran in 2001 and gathered many awards in its pocket which also inspired the makers to make a sequel, ‘Naya Office Office’, which didn’t do that well as the original.
Also, popular comedy shows like Sarabhai Vs. Sarabhai and Khichdi are already on a re-run. Sony Television has started re-telecasting its gems like their popular shows CID, Aahat and Ye Un Dino Ki Baat Hai.
DD National’s epics like Ramayan, Mahabharata, Circus, Shaktimaan, Chanakya, Upanishad Ganga and many more are also getting telecasted to keep the audience occupied and entertained during the lockdown. Looks like everybody’s childhood is back and the Television industry is in a mood to turn the time to a few years, perhaps decade back.
