SHOCKING – Man caught on camera licking doorbell in ‘coronavirus challenge’ (video goes viral)
The coronavirus pandemic has affected over a million people and claimed 64,729 lives. Even as the deadly contagion continues to spread, some misguided and foolhardy people are doing dangerous things to go viral on the internet.
If the deluge of fake news about COVID-19 wasn’t worrying enough, many videos and pictures on social media show influencers performing outrageous stunts to mock the contagion and gain clout among netizens.
In March, a TikTok user filmed herself licking a toilet seat allegedly while inside a plane bathroom. A day after she posted the video, she confirmed she started the coronavirus challenge for ‘clout’.
Another TikTok user, who licked a toilet seat and joked about catching COVID-19, had reportedly tested positive just a few days after his extreme stunt went viral. The youngster, identified as Larz, gained notoriety after he took part in the coronavirus challenge.
Unfortunately, the high number of COVID-19 casualties is not proving to be a deterrent for the coronavirus challenge participants. In fact, the internet has seen a steady rise in such challenges in the past few weeks.
The latest coronavirus challenge video to go viral features a man licking a couple’s doorbell, where they remained inside their house during a lockdown.
The shocking footage was shared on Facebook by Matthew Wehmeier. It shows two men behaving strangely outside the couple’s door before one of them, totally unaware of the doorbell camera, starts to lick the doorbell
Watch video:
After one of the men licks the door, his partner starts doing the floss dance in front of the door. A few seconds later, the one who licked a door also does the same dance move, but a few meters away in a corridor.
“Our doorbell got licked! If that wasn’t bad enough anytime, we’re going through a pandemic right now; people are trying to be mindful about not spreading a virus. It’s gross nonsense like this that makes me lose faith in humanity,” Matthew wrote on Facebook.
“Please share this to make others aware of such stupidity. Clean your doorbells, everyone; think of the guests and delivery companies that use it every day. Just use common sense when protecting yourself and others, unlike these losers!” he added.
Three days later, the man returned to the house to apologise and was caught on camera saying, “What I did the other night was absolutely uncalled for and I understand that and I apologise.”
