NEW DELHI: Arvind Kejriwal declares Rs. 1 crore for families of health personnel if they lose their lives while handling COVID-19 cases.
“If anyone loses their life while serving coronavirus patients, whether sanitation workers, doctors or nurses, their family will be provided Rs 1 crore as a mark of respect to their service. Whether they are from private or government sector… it doesn’t matter,” Mr Kejriwal told reporters.
The national capital has so far reported over 120 coronavirus cases as the number of people who have incurred infection across India crossed 1,600. “We are still at the local transmission stage.
Hope it doesn’t reach community transmission stage (Stage 3),” Mr Kejriwal said today.

Kejriwal’s interaction with doctors came after three doctors tested positive for COVID-19.
The total figure of novel coronavirus cases in Delhi climbed to 120 on Tuesday after 23 new cases of the disease were reported. These 120 cases include 24 people who took part in a religious gathering at the Markaz in Nizamuddin West earlier this month.
