New Delhi: As there have been a number of fake messages and unfounded rumours on the social media regarding the coronavirus pandemic, the Government of India has created MyGov Corona Helpdesk. In an attempt to educate the citizens and make them stay away from misinformation over WhatsApp, Facebook and other social media platforms, the government has created WhatsApp Chatbot to address issues on COVID-19.

The official handle of ‘National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Authority of India (NPPA) released the WhatsApp number on its Twitter handle. The message read: “Just save on WhatsApp 9013151515 and you will get automated response on queries related to Corona.”

The national helpline number for coronavirus is +91-11-23978046 and the toll free number is 1075. The government had also released an email id ( ncov2019@gov.in ) to address the concerns on Novel Coronavirus.
