Muscat: When Shifana boarded the flight from Oman to Kerala, she was not aware that her husband’s coffin also was in the flight. Shifana’s husband Kannur Chuzhali native Muhammed Saheer (30) had a heart attack while he was playing football on the ground the previous day. Though he was rushed to the Badr Al Samaa hospital in Nizwa, he could not be saved. But, their friends and relatives did not inform Shifana about his death.

Saheer’s friends told Shifana that Saheer has symptoms of Coronavirus and he is isolated at the hospital. They convinced her that as she is three months pregnant, she would not be allowed to visit Saheer at hospital and that she should return to Kerala.

Following this, Shifana boarded Air India Express flight from Muscat to Kozhikode on Monday. Saheer’s friends booked the ticket and saw her off. Meanwhile, some other friends arranged to send Saheer’s coffin in the same flight. They took care not to inform Shifana about this.

Shifana and Saheer got married only six months ago. Shifana was visiting Muscat for the first time with her husband. Their relatives also struggled hard not to let Shifana know about Saheer’s death until she reached home. Saheer is son of Chuzhali native Abdu and Khadeeja.
