The new coronavirus treatment has had a very positive effect on some patients, although it has not been tested on controlled conditions or on a comparable basis.
New Delhi, March 16: Amidst the worldwide havoc of coronavirus, scientists in Australia claim to have found a cure for the dreaded disease.
These scientists claim that the test tube of two tablets that contain the virus has been successful and is now ready for testing on humans.
They said that among these medicines, one is the medicine used in the treatment of HIV and the other is chloroquine (also known as crocin) used in the treatment of malaria.
Patterson, a doctor of communicable disease at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, reported that both of these drugs were used on some infected patients in Australia and found that the virus disappeared completely.
“It is a potentially effective treatment. At the end of treatment it was found that there is no sign of coronavirus infection in the patient’s body,” he said.
“We currently want to test the drug extensively in humans in 50 hospitals across Australia to compare the combination of these two drugs with other drugs,” he added.
Patterson said the new coronavirus treatment has had a very positive effect on some patients, although it has not been tested on controlled conditions or on a comparable basis.
He informed that that this drug is in the form of tablet, which is taken orally by the patient.
Although the dreaded coronavirus has spread all over the world, India – for now at least – has managed to control the spread of the disease.
According to experts, as soon as coronavirus began to spread in China, the scientists of India sensed the danger and started working towards its removal.
The result of this is that India is far ahead of China, America, Japan and Thailand as far as finding a cure for COVID-19 is concerned.
It is said that India is far ahead of all other countries in developing a vaccine for coronavirus. This is the reason why many countries, along with America, China and Japan, are looking very keenly towards India.
A few days ago, American scientists claimed to have caught the coronavirus alive. But they could catch only one strain of COVID-19, while India has so far detected a total of eight strains of coronavirus. Scientists in India have also discovered how the coronavirus changes its form.
The number of people killed by the coronavirus all over the world has so far exceeded 5000, while more than 1.35 lakh people have been infected.
The number of coronavirus cases in India has risen to 114 with one new case each in Ladakh, Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir, and Kerala, Health Ministry officials said on Monday.
The number includes 13 people who have been discharged after they recovered and two fatalities, they said.
The eastern state of Odisha has reported its first case.
Coronavirus has been confirmed among 4 suspects of a family in Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh (Uttar Prades), after which the number has risen to 13 in the state.
The number of coronavirus cases in India include two persons who have died in Delhi and Karnataka.
While a 76-year-old man from Kalaburagi who had recently returned from Saudi Arabia died on Thursday, a 68-year-old woman in Delhi who had tested positive for coronavirus passed away at the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital on Friday night.
