BJP leader Parvesh Verma stirred up a controversy when he said that people from Shaheen Bagh could rape and murder if the are permitted to go on unhindered.

He also went on to say that if the BJP was voted to power, then Shaheen Bagh would be open within an hour.

He was also served a notice by the Election Commission of India for his remark.

The women of Shaheen Bagh became suspicious of the burqa-clad woman while she was recording the protest. They caught the reporter and shouted at her, which is when Delhi Police came to her rescue and took her.
