According to media reports, the Law Ministry has accepted the suggestion from the Election Commission. According to media reports, the Union Law Ministry has agreed with some conditions to link the Aadhaar card with the voter ID card.
After getting the approval of the Law Ministry, now the Election Commission can get the legal right to add Aadhar card with the Voter ID card. Let us tell you that in February 2015, the Election Commission had earlier started the exercise of linking Aadhaar with Voter ID (or EPIC). At that time HS Brahma was the Chief Election Commissioner.

But this exercise was suspended in August due to the Supreme Court banning the use of Aadhaar in Public Distribution System (PDS), LPG and kerosene distribution. But before this, the Election Commission had already linked 38 crore voter cards from Aadhaar.
